James and Selah were married on Saturday, 06 January, 1816 in Williamson County, TENNESSEE and raised nine boys and one girl -- all noted on the James & Selah Tree. They started their family at their TENNESSEE homestead in Maury County and, in late 1853, immigrated to DeWitt County, TEXAS, where they established their TEXAS homestead and the town of Edgar, DeWitt Co, TEXAS. Their family are buried in several TEXAS cemeteries, including the private EDGAR Family Cemetery and Hillside Cemetery.
