About 1852, James BROWN and Mildred MAYS and their family emigrated from Marshall Co,
MISSISSIPPI to DeWitt Co, TEXAS, very close to the EDGAR Family Homestead. The two families
became even closer when four EDGARS married four BROWNS. Today, Brown Road meets
Concrete-Edgar Road as shown at the bottom of the linked satellite photo.
On 01 January, 1857, in Clinton, DeWitt County, TEXAS,
Arthur S. EDGAR, b. 1828, sixth son of James and Selah,
married
Harriet Elizabeth BROWN, b.1829, the BROWN'S fifth child.

Henry EDGAR, b. 1821, third son of James and Selah
married
Tabitha Jane BROWN, b. 1835, the BROWN's third child.

John EDGAR, b.1819, second son of James and Selah,
married
Mary J. (Molly) BROWN, b. 1842, the BROWN'S sixth child.

On 13 November, 1867, in Clinton, DeWitt County, TEXAS,
Tennessee Alabama "Bammie" EDGAR, b. 1849, grand daughter of James and Selah
by the third son Henry (and his first wife Alice MORTON),

Joseph P. BROWN, b. 1848 the BROWN''s eighth child.
