Jane C. McCORMICK McMEEN

[Posted at McMeen/ Sparkman Family Tree @ Ancestry.com [S427]]

"Mrs. Jane C. McMEEN, daughter of Wm. C. and Dorcas McCormick, was born in North Carolina,

May 21, 1824; married Mr. D. N. McMeen in January, 1857, and died in DeWitt County, Texas,

Nov. 18, 1888. She moved to Maury County, Tenn., when she was a child.  In her youth she gave

herself to God, and joined the M. E. Church at Spring Hill [Spring Hill, Maury Co, TENNESSEE].

There for more than forty years she labored faithfully. She was devotedly loved by her family and

friends.  Two year ago [abt 1886] she moved to Texas to be with her married daughter [Mary

Helen McMEEN SPARKMAN]. Now she is happy with that darling child in heaven.  Her oldest boy

is there with her too - there they will live and rest forever in the beautiful home prepared for all who

love God. Husband, brothers, sisters, children, and relatives, live for God and we will meet our

loved one where parting will be no more. Sister [?]"
