EDGAR Family Cemetery Association (“EFCA”)

Mission Statement & Guidelines

[Updated 19 Apr 2013 in pdf format.]

Mission

The EDGAR Family Cemetery’s mission is as follows:

To provide a network of interested individuals with ancestors (direct or by marriage) buried in the EDGAR

Family Cemetery (“EFC”) to serve as a core, volunteer group for annual or semi-annual maintenance of the

cemetery’s grounds and grave markers.

To collect membership dues and donations, and to apply those funds, along with volunteer efforts, aimed at

securing, restoring and maintaining the EFC.

To provide a single point of contact with, and to work cooperatively with, the land owner in arranging limited,

periodic visitations to the cemetery, with his permission and at his convenience, always with respect for his

land, facilities, pets and livestock, the safety and convenience of his guests (hunters and others) as well as

for his privacy and his wishes.

Membership, Dues, and Donations

Membership in the EFCA is limited to individuals who have ancestors (direct or by marriage) whose graves are in the EFC.

Membership dues are $25/year per individual up to a maximum of $50/year per household.  Membership dues will provide

predictable, recurring funds for maintaining the cemetery (i.e. keeping it cleared).

Donations may be made by any person at any time and will be very helpful, especially in the initial securing and restoring

phases and for special projects including the following:

Installation of a sturdy and durable fence designed to keep livestock and feral hogs from entering the

cemetery (completion in 2013),

Resetting and repairing certain existing gravestones in special need (completion in 2014)

Members and donors will be identified in a listing to be updated periodically on the EFC website.

Leadership Team

An initial leadership team will include the following:

Bob Webb (EDGAR and BROWN descendant and major donor)

Karan Goldsmith Callaway (MAHLER descendant and major donor)

Joel Jackson (MAHLER descendant, landowner, and major donor-in-kind)

Kittena Jane Hannah (EDGAR and BROWN descendant and major donor-in-kind)

Comments, suggestions, and/or questions should be submitted to Bob Webb by

or by regular mail to 2623 Admiral Drive, League City, TX 77573.
